Mumbai, Feb 13 (IANS) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday said that it has busted a massive foreign exchange scam to the tune of Rs 700 crore involving Mumbai-based firm Capstone Forex Pvt The agency suspects forex violations to the tune of Rs 700 crore between 2017 and 2019 through Capstone Forex Pvt Ltd, a small time full fledge money changer (FFMC), whose books showed a whopping 1800 per cent increase in its turnover in 2017-18, sources said. Capstone Forex allegedly created bogus tourist lists and illegally remitted foreign exchange overseas, according to officials. “In order to provide credit balance to this company, Edelweiss Group companies and another firm under probe allegedly issued cheques to this Thane-based company for buying dollars and transferring under current account. The ED had recently summoned Shah in connection with the company's dealings with Capstone Forex Pvt Ltd. Informing shareholders about the development, Shah had said: "I am writing to you directly "We have received a communication from the Enforcement Directorate to appear and provide information about Edelweiss group companies' dealings with a company called Capstone Forex Pvt Ltd.
